Vote: It’s your Right

Virginia21 members are some of the most empowered, civically engaged and politically active young people in the Commonwealth. To make an impact though, we have to vote, and in large numbers! Too many young persons today do not know how to contact their legislators, let alone their names, and the links below will help you find your representatives, your voting location, and the forms you need to make a difference.

“I don’t know who represents me!”

Who’s My Legislator? gives you your representative’s contact information based on the address you enter!

“I’m not registered to vote!” “I don’t know where to vote!”

It’s critical that you decide whether you’re going to vote in your college’s district or at your home address and make sure you are at that location on voting day. You must vote in the district you are registered in! You are registered to vote as long as your form is delivered at least 22 days before an election.

“I can’t vote on Election Day, how do I vote by absentee?”

Voting by absentee is the only way you can vote if you are not in the place you are registered to vote. If you can’t make it home, or to college, this is the only way for you to make a difference on Election Day.
