Highlights from 2016

  • Remarks from prestigious VA leaders Senator Mark Warner, Tom Davis, and Representative Gerry Connolly about the importance of millennial leadership in today’s economy, politics, and communities.

  • Breakout sessions covering topics like “Entrepreneurship and Innovation,” “Managing Money as a Millennial,” “Effective Communication in the Workplace,” and “Owning a Home of your Own,” as well as panel discussions focused on leadership and young engagement in government.

We launched a statewide mentoring network to foster connections between young professionals and current college students seeking relevant career insight.

Here’s an overview of the Mentorship:

  • Interested individuals will be added to a mentor directory with their name, title, and employer (contact information will not be made public)
  • Connections will be coordinated by VA21 staff
  • Mentors will provide valuable professional guidance to one mentee
  • Commitment level is determined by the mentor, but you are expected at minimum to be available for an occasional phone call or in-person meeting with respective mentee
